Woman removed via boot of her car

A WOMAN who was involved in a single vehicle accident had to be removed from her car whilst still sat in her seat and via the boot by firefighters last weekend.

The incident happened on the A18 between Jaques Bank and the A161 at Crowle on Saturday December 10 at 10.28am.

Firefighters from Crowle and Epworth and the RSU and one pump from Scunthorpe also attended the scene and assisted the adult female from the car along with paramedics.

They had to cut the seat from the car whilst she remained sat in it and then remove it via the boot.

She was suffering from leg injuries, cuts and bruises. Oxygen therapy and first aid was administered before she was taken to hospital by ambulance.

* Epworth firefighters along with the RSU and a pump from Scunthorpe also attended an incident on Akeferry Road in Westwoodside on Saturday December 10 at 2.24am.

Involved was a car overturned in a dyke and a trapped male driver.

Officers had to force entry through the vehicle’s rear window to open the door and remove the casualty who was suffering from hyperthermiae. Oxygen therapy and first aid was administered until the arrival of paramedics who transferred him to hospital on a spinal board.

* A hose reel was used to put put intentional burning of farm waste by a farmer on Epworth Road in Beltoft at 6.24pm on Friday December 9. Firefighters from Epworth attended.
