TEACHERS from across Rotherham met up this week at an event to swap ideas of how to inspire the area’s next generation of entrepreneurs.
They gathered at the ‘Creating a Culture of Enterprise in Education’ gala at The Source building, near Meadowhall, to share their experiences and involvement in an enterprise education programme ran by Rotherham Ready.
The two-and-a-half year scheme has seen around 700 trainee teachers learn how to integrate business enterprise projects into the school curriculum.
Those attending got to meet up with international education speaker and former Head Teacher of the Year, Richard Gerver.
Mr Gerver, who previously visited Rotherham in 2009, said: “The challenges our young people will face in the future are simply too big to ignore. As school leaders we have got to stop discussing whether we do this, and simply get on with it, as Rotherham Ready is.”
