THE following people have appeared at Doncaster Magistrates’ Court charged with the following offences.
EDLINGTON: A thief has been tagged after going a stealing spree. Between November 2 and 10 Ashley Marlborough stole perfume from McGills pharmacy, four boxes of chocolates from Co-op stores and eight DVDs, also from the Co-op. Marlborough must remain at his home in Princess Crescent between 7pm to 7am for six weeks and pay a total of £141.50. The 28-year-old admitted three counts of shoplifting and also asked for another two offences to be taken into consideration.
MEXBOROUGH: Going for a spin in a car which had been taken without permission has landed a man with a year-long driving ban and 80 hours of unpaid work. Dean Christy originally denied an offence under the Theft Act after a Rover 25 was damaged after it had been taken, but changed his plea to guilty. The 20-year-old of Wath Road was ordered to pay £100 compensation and £100 costs following the July 6 incident.
TOWN CENTRE: Possessing heroin has landed a man with a 12 month conditional discharge. Raymond Lee, 43, of Montague Street, was also ordered to pay £50 costs after he pleaded guilty to possessing class A drugs following an incident on October 14.
HEXTHORPE: A man has felt the sharp end of the law after he was found with a flick knife. Wayne Besley, 30, of Ramsden Road, pleaded guilty to possessing an offensive weapon after he was caught with the knife in Barnstone Street on December 2. Besley, was also handed a 12 week 7pm and 7am curfew and was ordered to pay £85 costs.
HYDE PARK: A thief has been told to get on his bike after stealing a cycle. John Armstrong, 33, of Lime Tree Avenue, was made the subject of a community order and must carry out 100 hours unpaid work after he pleaded guilty to taking the £50 bike on November 14. Armstrong was also ordered to pay £135.
BESSACARR: A fisherman has been reeled in by police. Nicholas Clarke, 30, of Ellers Avenue, was ordered to pay £317 after being found guilty of illegally catching fish on May 29. Magistrates heard that Clarke fished for freshwater fish or eels by means of an unlicensed fishing instrument.
CONISBROUGH: A thief is not remotely happy after being slapped with a community order for stealing a TV. Tyrell Anthony Tullett, 34, of Green Lane, pleaded guilty to taking the £129.99 TV from Sainsbury’s on November 17. He was ordered to pay £50 and attend a drug rehabilitation course.
BALBY: A motorist is behind bars after driving whilst disqualified. Paul Cooley, 41, of Melford Drive, Balby, was handed an eight week sentence after pleading guilty to driving along Woodfield Way whilst disqualified.
